Comanche County Jail Overview
Comanche County Jail is operated by the Comanche County Sheriff's Office. Official county sources place the jail and sheriff complex at 300 Industrial Blvd in Comanche. The same county jail page describes the jail division as responsible for safely securing people lawfully committed to the sheriff's custody while meeting or exceeding minimum standards set by law, rule, or directive of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. Sheriff Chris Pounds is listed in the official staff directory as the sheriff.
The jail is the only detention facility found in official Comanche County sources. No county annex, work-release center, regional jail, municipal jail with a public roster, TDCJ prison, BOP prison, or ICE detention center was identified inside Comanche County. That does not mean every person with a Comanche County case stays there. A sentenced felony prisoner may move to TDCJ, a federal sentenced prisoner may appear in BOP, and a person with an ICE detainer may move to ICE custody after local processing.
The official Comanche County Jail page is the public source for the current roster PDF, visitation files, commissary link, and jail contact block. The facility page is also where a reader should begin before relying on unofficial search results.
Comanche County Jail Population
The Texas Commission on Jail Standards June 2026 current population workbook lists Comanche County Jail with 145 beds and 43 people in custody on the June 1, 2026 row. That is about 29.7 percent of rated capacity. The separate incarceration-rate workbook lists an average daily population of 37 for June 2026. Those figures are facility-level population facts, not a list of names.
The latest TCJS category summary included local male and female pretrial misdemeanants, local male bench-warrant inmates, male and female pretrial felons, a female parole violator or blue-warrant category, a male parole violator with a new charge, local male convicted felons or parole violators sentenced to TDCJ divisions, and pretrial state-jail-felony detainees. The public roster adds person-level context, including class, cell, hold information, court line, charge text, bond, and arresting agency.
Lookup Comanche County Jail Inmates
The facility lookup is the county's Latest Jail Roster PDF. It is not a database search screen. The inspected report was printed June 29, 2026 at 08:18 and ran 12 pages. It can be searched with the PDF viewer find tool, but it does not offer filters for age, bond, court, charge, facility, release status, or booking date.
- Open the official county jail page and choose Latest Jail Roster PDF.
- Search the PDF for a last name, first name, local ID number, charge word, docket number, or arresting agency.
- Read the person header for class, cell, name, ID number, R/E, days in, age, attorney, hold information, and sex.
- Read all charge blocks for booking date, arrest date, bond, court, docket, arresting agency, and offense type.
- Call 325-356-2333 if the roster is unclear, the person may have been released, or another agency hold affects release.
For a broader explanation of the PDF fields and fallback search channels, use the Comanche County inmate records page. It distinguishes local jail custody from TDCJ, BOP, ICE, and VINELink lookups.

Custody, visitation, and jail-service questions should go to the jail or sheriff complex, not the courthouse. Court records, certified copies, and filings use clerk offices elsewhere in Comanche. Visit Comanche County Jail
The county jail page links an Inmate Visitation Rules PDF and an Inmate Visitation Schedule XLS. The rules PDF was not text-readable in the research pass, so do not rely on guessed ID, dress, item, child-visitor, or locker rules. The schedule workbook exposed two alternating male/female blocks. Check the actual workbook date and call the jail before travel.
| Official Schedule Text Found | Time Block | Before Arrival |
|---|---|---|
| Females 8:30A - 11:30A / Males 2P - 5P | Female morning, male afternoon | Verify the date in the workbook. |

Note: Confirm visitation, custody, and rules with the jail before traveling, since schedule files and inmate status can change.

Booking at Comanche County Jail
Booking follows a local arrest, warrant pickup, parole hold, or outside-agency hold. The roster shows arresting agencies such as Comanche County SO, Comanche PD, Hamilton County SO, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and parole authorities. At intake, the jail records the person's identity, local ID number, age, sex, R/E shorthand, booking date, arrest date, charge text, arresting agency, bond, court line, hold information, and classification. Housing terms in the roster include cells, dorms, and separation shorthand.
After arrest, Texas law requires prompt magistration. Bond may be set, denied, or affected by a hold. Roster examples include Surety Bond, Personal Recognizance Bond, No Bond, Other, Active Bond, and Sentenced. A person may remain in jail despite a bond on one charge if a parole hold, ICE detainer, out-of-county hold, no-bond order, or emergency protective order still applies.
Comanche County Jail Records Requests
The public roster is useful but not complete. It omits mugshots in the inspected PDF, birth dates, home addresses, full physical description, medical information, and release projections. For jail records not posted online, use the sheriff contact channel or a written request under the Texas Public Information Act. Law-enforcement exceptions can limit some investigative information, while basic arrest and booking information may be handled differently from a full case file.
Formal court records after booking use clerk channels. The District Clerk page links the Tyler Odyssey public portal and gives certified-copy instructions. Mail requests go to Comanche County District Clerk, Records Request, P.O. Box 206, Comanche, TX 76442, with a self-addressed stamped envelope and check or money order. In-person district-court record requests use the courthouse address at 101 W Central in Comanche. The District Clerk page lists a $1 per page copy fee.
